Dublin Sights, Sounds and Hotels
Mansion House, dating from 1710, where Dublin’s mayor lives, was originally built for Joshua Dawson. He sold the mansion to the government with the stipulation that ‘one loaf of double refined sugar of six pounds weight’ be delivered to him every Christmas. Many interesting exhibitions are held in the mansion’s great circular hall, and the famous Dawson Street, where it is situated hosts the August Antiques fair when the residents of Dublin turn out in thousands for the popular event.
It's worthwhile visiting Dublin city if only for the people, but there are also so many things to see and do. Book your accommodation in one of the fine Dublin hotels and don't forget to visit Dublin's Mansion House while you're there.
