Bratislava Sights, Sounds and Hotels
A fundamental and beautiful neo-classical architectural monument in Bratislava is the Primatial Palace where Napoléon of France and Emperor Francis I of Hapsburg Austria signed the Pressburg Peace Treaty in 1805, after Napoléon's victory at the Battle of Austerlitz. Rebel Hungarians held their headquarters here when the citizens of the Habsburg lands revolted against Vienna's imperial domination in 1848, but it is also the place where the Habsburg general Hainau signed the rebels' death sentences after the uprising had failed. Part of the Municipal Museum is housed in the palace and one can be dazzled in the Hall of Mirrors, and also view a fine collection of 6 English tapestries that were found in the palace, dating from the mid 17th century that depict the legend of the lovers Hero and Leander. There is a chapel in the palace that is popular for weddings.
Bratislava's Primatial Palace is one of the many wonderful sights and sounds that you will have the privilege of experiencing whilst in Bratislava. The outstanding Bratislava Hotels will show you the true meaning of the warm Slovak hospitality.
