Barcelona's Cathedral known as La Seu, the seat of the Bishop, took two hundred years to complete from when the foundations were laid in 1298. The main façade, however, was only finished in the late 19th century. The most striking features of the fine cathedral are the two dramatic octagonal bell towers, with the interior cloister offering a peaceful retreat from Barcelona's bustle, with magnificent Magnolias, Palm trees and fragrant Orange blossom. Snow-white geese add a rural domesticity to the ambience.
